ALEX: Well, the alarm clock works.Up while it was still dark (and damn cold) and goddamn reception was closed. So we left keys and sheets with some guy. Our driver/tour guide is Rory. And there’s a lot of distance to cover. There’s introductions and games (yes games) but it doesn’t seem as unbearable this time. I gues when you’ve paid $300 and you’re gonna see Uluru, not much gets you down. But today is King’s Canyon and boy, was it impressive. Very high, a straight sheer drop (someone fell and died a few weeks ago) But just awesome. Worth the hike.
MEGS: Very scary standing so close to such a high drop, but absolutely awesome! Our group is ok, half are foreign, and a mad guide. After stopping for firewood and a look at some rather strange anthills we got to camp. Bought more beers (ours were warm) mmm Fosters..By this time it was around 7.30, helped to chop veg for dinner – chilli con carne. Drank some beers, watched the fire and then set up our swags and sleeping bags to sleep. Woken up in middle of the night by scratching and squeaking – there were mice all over the campsite, drinking beer & wine and helping themselves to food – this was hideous, but after freaking out for 2 hours I finally fell asleep, then awoken by Rory at 5.30-6 am.
Wow! That's my shit;-)
