MEGS: Alex was up at crack of dawn. We explored the place, cool pool, tv room, 2 kitchens; small, could be cleaner. Free breakfast consisted of 2 small bits of white bread and honey or marmalade and some Germans with sour faces, who couldn’t seem to communicate apart from grunts and hand signals (and of course sour faces). Overloaded with Kakadu leaflets! Bought new alarm clock (5 months too late). Early start for Uluru tour, 6:15 pick up..Looked around town, book shops and other hostels all priced $50 or over, no weekly deals.
ALEX: Looking forward to a bus journey that will take us straight to where we wish to go. Very hot in Darwin, so its bound to be hotter in Alice Springs with no coastal breeze. Germans aren’t giving themselves a good name, we have a family staying in our block with an annoying child who thinks he owns the place.
Sour faces best do your very best to be communicated through grunts
